Greta Van Fleet | Bell Center | Montreal Event Photographer

Greta Van Fleet have been tagged with bringing back classic rock and roll. Early comparisons to Led Zepplin were easy, but their sound is growing, a bit more mature, a bit more their own.

I was psyched to see them for the first time on stage at Montreal’s Bell Centre. Brothers Josh, Jake and Sam Kiszka front the band, with Danny Wagner keeping the beats in the back. Greta Van Fleet’s live show and stage presence were simple yet effective. Other than some jets of flames early on, the background and lights weren’t flashy, the focus being more on the music. The moment when singer Josh went on the shoulders of his security to give roses to the crowd, took someone’s disposable camera and snapped an image, was all pretty cute. Although the attitude and professionalism of their security guards left quite a bit to be desired.

But it was quite the event for fans who were treated to a great show! I was covering the Greta Van Fleet show for Montreal’s home of rock and roll, CHOM 97.7 FM and iheartradio.ca
