De retour depuis 2 ans d’absence en présentiel, le premier des gros festivals traditionnels de Montréal a eu lieu il y a quelques semaines. Les Francos de Montréal kicked off summer 2022 in grand style, bringing out the crowds to the Quartier des Spectacles.

A great mix of new and more long standing french artistes, you could see how humbled many of them were being back up on stage in front of thousands. A true reminder of what a real Montréal summer is.
I had the luxury of covering many of the outdoor main stage artists and a few indoors venues as well. From the rapkeb greats like Koriass and the reunification of Loud Lary Ajust, to the more smooth vibes of Corneille and Louis-Jean Cormier. The hommage to Karim Ouellet, who passed away from diabetes complications a few months ago at the age of 37 was a reminder of what a tight community we have here.

Personally, it was great to be able to reconnect with some francophone artists that I don’t usually listen to. A great reminder of what amazing local talent and culture we have. And it was also a great opportunity to reconnect with some photographers (and meet some new ones!). Doing this as a job, you forget how important it is to have collegues with whom you can share experiences with and just talk shop.
I was covering for Bell Média / iHeartradio, and below are a few of my fave shots of the 6 nights of coverage. So amazing to have full on festivals back in town!!
