A wedding on ice | Montreal Wedding Photographer | Bell Centre

montreal wedding photographer couple on ice bell centre

I was asked to second shoot by the amazing Vitor Munhoz (the official Montreal Canadiens photographer) a pretty unique event… the first, and probably last, wedding to happen in the Bell Centre.

We are not just talking about renting a restaurant here. The couple got the full on treatment, from preps being done in executive lounges, a ceremony at centre ice officiated by the voice of the Habs Michel Lacroix, music by the Habs‘ own organist Diane Bibaud, photos done in the player’s dressing room, surprise videos from their favorite player and then, a reception held in Le Mythik. Complete with random photo bombs from Youpi, a tour of the entire Bell Centre and even a ring bearer ride on the zamboni!

Being one of few photographers with full access in the Bell Centre, Vitor brought me along as not only the security staff knows me, but I also know my way around the famed home of the Habs (ie – don’t step on the logo in the dressing room!!). I would also like to believe I make decent images too.

The couple are huge Montreal Canadiens fans, so this is really a dream come true. The logistics needed to have them and their guests for the day were pretty immense, hence the feeling that this might be the last wedding of its sort.

I was tasked with following mainly the groom and his posse around. I did have a few stints in the bride’s dressing area. I mainly captured some more candid moments while Vitor worked his magic.

The entire wedding party were a blast to work with. The Bell Centre staff were there to help to make the couple’s day that much more special.
