Disturbed place bell montreal 2019 draiman hands in air

Disturbed hadn’t had their own arena gig in almost 10 years in the city. The last couple of times we had them on a stage was during Heavy Montreal in 2016 and in 2011. Front man David Draiman had taken some time off to push his industrial band Device (which was also at Heavy Montreal one year). Other members started having side projects as well.

But Disturbed came back in 2015 with a new album and again in 2018 with Evolution, the album for which their are currently touring.

Montreal (or in this case Laval), was psyched to see them at Place Bell. The venue was sold out. With 2 stages (the main and a smaller one in the back for a more intimate set), loads of lights and the very metal pyro, the band still puts on an amazing show. Even if Draiman no longer has his lip piercings.

Photographers were set back at the small stage on the other end of the arena floor. There was a glimmer of hope that the band would show up in their first few songs to play the stage. Sadly for us, they didn’t. Most of the shots below were done with a 70-200mm lens, the wider shots on a 24-70mm. Keeping it simple for a setup, just the way I like it.
