Coming off their North American tour, which brought them to places such as the famous Whisky A Go Go in LA and the Rock Legends Cruise, Montreal’s own The Damn Truth closed out the tour in a sold out Montreal Corona Theatre. I don’t think they headlined a show in the city since their 2016 Corona show, although I did catch them at Osheaga last year.

If you don’t know the band, you really should. They are incredibly energetic live, they have soul and they rock. It is great to see a band get the dues they deserve, with fans screaming in excitement as the venue lights go dim announcing the start of the show. What is great about the crowd, for us photographers, is even though the place was packed, people still let you by with a smile and didn’t mind if you stood in front of them for a minute to get a few shots.

Big thanks to the band for giving some stage access. It is a rare thing these days, but to be able to capture something different than you normally, play with the lights and using the crowd as a backdrop, can be pretty fun. Nothing like “here’s your pass, just go do your thing” as restrictions.
