Pennywise and Strung Out | Le Club Dix30 | Montreal Concert Photographer

I could of titled this “When punk invaded the south shore”.  Most shows that happen in and around Montreal are usually downtown or in the recently opened Place Bell in Laval.  To the delight of south shore music fans, promoter Evenko set up a show at Le Club Dix30 in Brossard.  With a capacity of 612 people, it was my first time there, and to my surprise, the place was actually really well suited for concerts.  Parking is easy with the massive underground parking, the sound was great, the stage was low… everything a concert photographer could want.

Punk heavyweights Pennywise, coming off a show in Montreal a few days early at the MTelus, were headlining, and accompanied by veterans Strung Out (and supported by Modern Terror – the same supporting cast at the prior show), they managed to easily sell out the place.  The circle pit got going early on and kept going through the entire show.

Having covered Pennywise a few times in the past, I knew that their lights are not always the best, and that the band is always full of energy and moving everywhere on stage.  Last night’s lights were on point and made for some really fun photos.  And I’ll always have a special place in my heart for the band…. it was the first time my girlfriend and I kissed, at their outdoor show back in 2013 at the Esplanade of the Olympic Stadium.

Ok… enough mush… here are some the images that were done for the promoter Evenko.  Here’s hoping they have more shows in my neck of the woods in the near future.  I know the few fans I spoke to last night agree. 🙂
