While I have a few days off this week, decided I need to catchup on some of my vacation photos from a few months ago. .. I know, bad bad photographer.
One of the things I will never forget about Amsterdam (well, some things I don’t remember thanks to coffeeshops) is the amount of cyclists… actually, more precisely, the amount of bicycles in the city. Did ya know that there are more bicycles in Amsterdam than there are people??? 880,000 bikes and 800,000 people. Yeah. Cyclist capitol of the world I’m sure. I knew that the city was known for it’s bikes, but I wasn’t ready to see so many. With the small roads, getting around on a bike is way easier. But add to that the pedestrians, the scooters, cars, trams, and buses… you have lots of congestion to get through.
So naturally, I have a series of photos of… yep, you guessed it… bicycles!

Ok, enough with the colour images. I was only inspired for a few of them really. Let’s get to the black and whites.
And this last one was done while almost getting hit by bikes. See, you can’t just look both ways before crossing and then go. You have to keep looking from side to side as you cross the street. And even when you do, you end up in a clusterfuck of bikes.
