Ah… the Montreal Bell Centre! The arena! You know when a band plays here, they are a big band. I mean the likes of Bon Jovi, and Madonna play here. So it was Metric’s turn back in November. I’ve shot Metric before but in smaller venues and it was great. I wasn’t sure how they would fit in with the bigger stage.
The place felt empty (and I guess it was looking at ticket sales) but they had an awesome light setup that made for great wide shots! And as always, shooting at the arena, you are pretty much guaranteed great lights, and this was no different. When you have to crank down your ISO and crank up your shutter and aperture, you know the lights are good. Settings were on average an ISO 3200, 1/400 of a shutter at f/3.5. I wish all shows would be like this.
