In my ongoing contract with the City of Montreal’s Service de la culture, I get to discover some of the little known (to me at least) events in the city that make Montreal one of the most unique cities to live in. We all know about the Jazz festival, Osheaga and other high profile events, but there are dozens upon dozens of community focused events that make the city come alive, no matter the season (or the weather).

Because not everyone can get out of the city…
This past weekend, I was documenting the Cabane à sucre urbaine, also known as le Party de bucheron, also known as La cabane panache et bois rond 2015, that saw the Promenade Wellington transformed into a urban sugar shack. Games for kids, maple syrup, food galore, lumberjacks and bunch of other activities that had the streets of Verdun packed with people taking in the gorgeous rays of spring time sun.
A great initiative (and in it’s 5th year!) that makes one of Quebec’s traditions of overdosing on sugar accessible to everyone 🙂
