One of Canada’s top music festivals hits Parc Jean-Drapeau for 3 days every August.  I have been to the last 4 editions, usually covering for various medias.  This year’s edition is a bit different as I’m hired on to cover 2 of the stages and provide the festival’s official images of all artists on these stages (plus a bunch of other stuff to shoot and document on site).

With great power comes great responsibility!  It’s a total blast working for the promoter, they all have smiles on their face and happy to help, but the days are long.  Images needs to be uploaded before the band actually leaves the stage.  My two stages are the smaller festival stages (la scene des Arbres and la scene de la Vallee), but being smaller, my bands have shorter set times and the promoter packed in more bands per day.  So I’m left with less editing time and more bands to shoot.  But really, I love the rush of the constant work, don’t see myself just sitting down.

As I’m a huge music fan, it gives me a chance to discover new talent that I have never heard of, which is awesome.  Sure, I don’t get to see most of the headliners, that’s alright by me.  Glass half full here 🙂  If you want to find out more on the bands, check out the official festival website

I’ll update this post and the galleries as quickly as I can during the day with images!
